But officials from AFF have told Shahin Sports that this match is a good chance for Afghanistan to prove it can host football events, an official said, adding that it will encourage FIFA – Fédération Internationale de Football Association – to remove Afghanistan from the list of the countries which cannot host matches.

Due to in security concerns Afghanistan have been hosting their home games in neighbouring countries. Hosting matches at home is very important in football. Playing in front of thousands of home fans gives the home team an advantage int he game.

Afghanistan’s next match is on October 16 2018 against Myanmar. The location for this game is yet to be announced.
